What is a coaching session like?
Coaching is usually done over the phone. In addition to allowing frequent, regular contact, it makes it easy to stay in the "coaching relationship", since the client can call from their office, home, or while away on a trip. The person being coached completes a coaching call strategy form prior to each call, describing the current challenges, the progress they've made since the last call and any expectations for the next coaching session. Most people are coached for two to four sessions per month, depending on where they are in their journey. Each session can last anywhere from 30-60 minutes.
The focus of the call is determined by the client. The coach helps them to address any concerns and make the most of current opportunities. We help clients see the choices where they didn’t think they had any. When clients are taking on a large goal, we help them design a plan of action that is manageable, and then provide the structure and support needed to make sure it gets done. We bring out the best in our clients by empowering and guiding them, helping them strategize, holding them accountable and celebrating the wins. There is often "homework" where the client is given a new perspective or a challenge to try something in a new way. That forms the basis for the next call. In between calls, we provide unlimited emails to support you along the way.
